Contemplative music for five unaccompanied voices including traditional spirituals and works by Bruckner, Ford, Grieg, Guerrero, Handl, Tchaikovsky and Harper. Featuring the premiere of Celia’s setting of Grahame Davies’ poem Song of Samhain.
An hour and a quarter of musical meditation where music arises from and falls back into silence, providing a space for personal reflection at this time of All Souls.

CELIA HARPER SETTINGS OF W B YEATS POEMS
12 February 2011 saw Voices of Chiswick Baroque with Cathy Schofield (violin) premiering settings by Celia of 7 Yeats poems for solo voice and violin. Ros Keating, Shelley Smith and Oliver Hinton sang with Cathy Schofield from the bleak “He hears the cry of the sedge” to the wistful Cloths of Heaven” and the jovial “Fiddler of Dooney”. This was as part of a Composers Present concert. We are hoping to include these songs in a Chiswick Baroque concert soon,

CB are pleased to say we will be carol singing in the hospitable Old Ship Hammersmith Mall W6 on Monday evening from about 8 pm for about 45 minutes collecting for Gt Ormond St Hospital. After that we will be going to the excellent Haweli restaurant to eat our Christmas Indian meal and sing at the table in aid of the Upper Room local charity for homeless people. JOIN US IF YOU CAN

There will be a CB spot on the outdoor stage during the Wendell Park Fair, a local event promoted by the Wendell Park Community Association and the Church of St Saviour, Wendell Park. We will be singing from the folk and spiritual end of our repertoire with microphones – something new for us!
